SUMMARY:Indraprastha witnessed a unique celebration of Kerala Piravi by the World Malayalee Council Delhi province
DESCRIPTION:The World Malayalee Council (WMC) Delhi Province celebrated Kerala Piravi Day marking the 69th anniversary of the formation of the state of Kerala in 1956. \nThese diaspora celebrations serve as a vital cultural link for Malayalis residing far from their home state\, and the Delhi event was a significant confluence of cultural pride\, community networking\, and civic dialogue. The WMC Delhi event\, often held at a central venue like the R K Puram Kerala School\, successfully recreated the spirit of Kerala in the capital city. \nThe core of the celebration was a rich cultural program. These events typically feature classical dance forms like Mohiniyattam and Kathakali\, traditional folk arts\, and musical performances\, providing an important platform for young Malayalis in Delhi to connect with their heritage.\nParticipants often attend wearing traditional Kerala attire (like the Kasavu Saree and Mundu)\, reinforcing the cultural aesthetic. \nKerala Piravi is also celebrated as Malayalam Language Day. A crucial part of these celebrations is the Bhasha Prathijna (Language Oath)\, taken by attendees to reaffirm their commitment to preserving and promoting the Malayalam language and literature among the diaspora. The function served as a key meeting point for the Delhi Malayali community\, facilitating networking among professionals\, students\, and families. It brought together various generations of the diaspora\, strengthening social bonds. \nThe presence of prominent personalities like Rted. Justice Kurian\, Rted. Justice Ravikumar\,Mr. Sibi George IFS\, are the highlights of the event and WMC’s mission to engage with the larger community was also fulfilled. Women’s Forum India Region predpresident Mrs. Geetha Ramesh and myself Surendran Kannatt were honoured graciously. \nReports indicate that key WMC events in Delhi often attract notable guests\, such as ambassadors\, retired judges (e.g.\, former Supreme Court judges)\, and other high-ranking officials\, underscoring the political and professional influence of the Delhi Malayali diaspora. \nAs the Vice Chairman of the World Malayalee Council (WMC)\, my presence was particularly demanded by the Delhi province leaders. \nThe World Malayalee Council Delhi’s Kerala Piravi celebration was a well-organized and meaningful observance that went beyond mere festivity. \nIt effectively served its dual purpose: to commemorate the historical date of Kerala’s formation (November 1\, 1956) and to preserve the cultural identity of Malayalis living in the national capital. \nThe event successfully created a sense of ‘home away from home\,’ using the universal language of culture and community gathering to remind the diaspora of the rich history\, linguistic legacy\, and progressive achievements of Kerala.

SUMMARY:NSS Jayanthi Celebrations 2025 - Stories of Heart\, Hope\, and Heritage
DESCRIPTION:From the break of dawn on November 2nd\, 2025\, an air of excitement and belonging swept through the Telangana Nair Seva Society grounds. The annual NSS Foundation Day was more than just a formal gathering; it was a coming together of families\, generations\, and dreams\, united by the timeless thread of service and heritage. \nA Morning of Pride and Reflection\nAs the flag was raised\, President Kannatt Surendran shared heartfelt memories about the community’s journey—not just its achievements\, but the small\, everyday acts of kindness that have shaped its progress. The crowd listened as an elder from a local Karayogam recounted how\, years ago\, a simple financial aid request was answered almost overnight thanks to the Society’s support network. That young boy\, once struggling\, now stood among the volunteers\, guiding others—a living example of how NSS had changed lives. \nThe NSS anthem was sung not just in unison\, but in spirit. Parents watched with pride as their children\, wearing traditional Kerala attire\, joined hands with their grandparents—bridging generations with melody and meaning. \nStories from the Heart\nDuring the cultural session\, laughter and applause filled the air. One highlight was a short play staged by the youth\, which humorously depicted a family arguing about waste segregation—ending with the youngest daughter\, barely eight\, teaching everyone with a handmade compost bin. Her proud mother later shared\, “She learned about this at last year’s NSS Jayanthi. Now\, every house in our lane composts waste\, thanks to her.” \nAnother story came from a medical student who\, in an impromptu moment\, shared how an NSS scholarship covered crucial tuition fees when her family faced hardship. She spoke of returning every holiday to mentor high schoolers\, determined to “give back a little of what NSS gave me.” \nA Day of Impactful Actions\nHealth and environmental awareness were not just discussed\, but lived. When a local health worker demonstrated handwashing techniques during a session\, giggling children became “sanitation ambassadors\,” eagerly running to correct their elders in the lunch line. Meanwhile\, saplings planted that morning were named after NSS founders by children\, echoing the hope that roots set today would grow into shade for many tomorrow. \nTreasurer P. Sethumadhavan offered touching words about accountability and community trust\, sharing a personal story of helping a struggling entrepreneur find stability through a small NSS loan\, which blossomed into a thriving business employing local youth. \nCarrying Forward the Legacy\nAs dusk approached\, General Secretary M. K. Sasikumar invited the youngest and oldest attendees to plant the final sapling—a gesture symbolizing the passing of values and responsibilities. “This tree\,” he said\, “is like our community—it grows only when everyone nurtures it.” \nFamilies mingled\, elders shared stories of past struggles and triumphs\, and children played under the banners of unity and service. The day closed not with farewells\, but with promises—to help\, to teach\, to serve\, and to cherish the power of coming together. \nNSS Jayanthi 2025 was a day of real connections—of stories woven from hope\, pride\, and gratitude—showing that the heart of the Telangana Nair Seva Society beats strongest when its people lift each other up.

SUMMARY:Emotional moments when performances of divyangjans transformed "Bharat Bharathi" program unforgettable
DESCRIPTION:This Sunday has been a special day for me since I was the special guest in the function by “Bharat Bharathi”\, a Tapestry of Unity Honouring Sardar Patel. \nThe ‘Bharat Bharathi’ program\, held in Hyderabad today (November 9\, 2025)\, was a spectacular cultural confluence organized to mark the ongoing celebrations of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (born October 31\, 1875). \nThis event perfectly mirrored Sardar Patel’s colossal legacy by celebrating the rich diversity of the Indian demographic system through art\, performance\, and inclusivity. \nThe Historical Resonance of Sardar Patel\nSardar Vallabhbhai Patel\, often revered as the ‘Iron Man of India’\, played an indispensable role as the nation’s first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister in the aftermath of Independence. \nPatel’s defining achievement was the swift and effective integration of over 560 princely states into the Union of India. \nThese states\, which constituted nearly 40% of the territory\, were a challenge to the new nation’s unity. \nUsing a combination of diplomacy\, persuasion (through the Instrument of Accession)\, and decisive action (as seen in Hyderabad and Junagadh)\, Patel prevented the balkanization of India. \nHis work was not about imposing uniformity but about creating a strong territorial and administrative framework that could accommodate India’s vast cultural\, linguistic\, and regional diversities—the very essence of Ek Bharat\, Shreshtha Bharat (One India\, Great India). \nThe celebrations\, like ‘Bharat Bharathi\,’ serve as a potent reminder that the unity of modern India is a direct consequence of his pragmatic nationalism and unwavering resolve. \nThe ‘Bharat Bharathi’ event in Hyderabad was a living testament to the unity Patel forged\, utilizing cultural expression to highlight the nation’s strength in its diversity. \nThe main program featured cultural presentations by artists from 15 different states\, performing iconic traditional folk dances. \nThis showcase vividly mapped India’s geographical and cultural expanse onto a single stage\, echoing Patel’s success in bringing all these distinct regions under one flag. \nA special and deeply moving focus of the evening was the cultural program by differently-abled children. This inclusion is particularly significant\, as it expands the concept of National Unity beyond geography\, language\, and religion\, to embrace all sections of society\, including those with special needs (Divyangjan). \nTheir performance underscored the idea that every citizen\, regardless of ability\, is an integral and talented part of the national fabric\, fostering a sense of comprehensive\, compassionate nationhood. \nI raised the question: Why did they invite me as the special guest? \nI was humbled by the request by beloved Mrs.Dr. Meenakshi Padmanabhan\, who is the driving force behind the event and a noted socio- cultural leader\, replied that me\,being a noted philanthropist and leader of a Malayali organisation as Global Vice Chairman of the World Malayali Council & President\, Telangana Nair Seva Society\,as the Chief Guest further symbolized this unity. \nAnd further explained that my role highlights the continuous cultural and social cohesion between regions (Kerala\, Telangana\, and the national umbrella) and the contribution of diverse community leaders to national celebratory programs. \nIn essence\, the ‘Bharat Bharathi’ program was a powerful contemporary reaffirmation of Sardar Patel’s legacy: using culture and inclusion to demonstrate that India’s unity is not just political\, but a vibrant\, resilient\, and enduring social reality.
